pretty solid. I wouldn't say it's waterproof. is water resistant or splash proof but drowning would fail. I bought it just to not have to deal with the iPad so gently .... and to take it anywhere .... the protective coating over the face makes it a little harder to use/touch, but the pen (or economic) came with help. no regrets on this yet!
